Many people have asked me “How did you get all of the archives and where did they come from?”  As you know, we have expanded our vault of textile treasures!  This past March, we purchased the Ilene Danchig Studio and what an adventure it has been! 179 boxes full of textiles, hand-painted art, and more shipped from NYC to Rock Hill, SC. I have to give a big shout out to Len and Victoria for helping pack ALL of the inventory as well as unpack once the truck arrived at the Cotton Factory.  We’ll be sharing videos of Ilene discussing her incredible knowledge and passion of textiles and art soon, but in the meantime, here are some fun photos from the move!

Victoria overwhelmed by all of the flat files she has to pack up and label.

There's me thinking "What have we done?!" Such an exhausting task, but so worth it!

If you are in the industry and purchase art for your business, you may know Ilene well. She has run her studio for over 30 years, right in the heart of the fashion district on 40th street. When you set up an appointment with Ilene, you would have to ensure you had extra time in your day! She is very passionate about every piece of her collection and would tell you the full history each piece you chose.  It’s truly difficult to pick our favorites, but here are a few documents from the assortment of textiles and art from Ilene’s studio that we love!

We now have it all unpacked and very nicely organized in the historic Cotton Factory in Rock Hill, SC. We are only 20 miles south of Charlotte, NC. Plan a trip to visit this incredible inventory of some of the most unique and exquisite textiles and art in the world.

Oh, and one more photo I have to share with you!
