We’ve all heard of the farm to table movement, but what about farm to closet?  It doesn’t really mean you’ll be harvesting crops and raising pigs in your walk-in, but close.  Farm to closet is the idea that we as consumers should be aware of where our clothes come from and how they are made.  Emphasis is placed on locally grown resources like organic cotton and natural dyes.  Farm to closet is the next progression in fashion, and our team at the Baxter Mill Archive is excited to incorporate it into print and pattern design!

When searching through the archive and our extensive library for inspiration, we came across these two beautiful books (1929, 1930) by artist and collector Jacques Zoubaloff.  With one look, our designers knew the quirky fruit and vegetables, organic textures, imperfect lines, and watercolor elements fit perfectly with the farm to closet movement.
