Mermaid Lagoon is re‑imagined from a 1930s–40s wallpaper preserved in the Baxter Mill Archive, transforming its ornate botanical flourishes into a lively narrative design inspired by Disney’s Peter Pan. Flowing leaves, scalloped fronds, and stylized blossoms in moss-green and white create a lush, decorative landscape on a natural putty-taupe, within which mermaids appear nestled among the motifs, their graceful silhouettes woven subtly into the pattern. The palette’s soft tonal shifts and painterly detailing reflect the expressive character of early 20th‑century surface design, while the layered composition introduces a sense of rhythm and movement.
