About this Design
A New Hope, part of the STAR WARS™ | Baxter Mill collaboration, is developed from a late 18th-century block printed chintz in the Baxter Mill Archive. Set in layered navy, ivory, and parchment tones, the scenic repeat captures recognizable moments from the groundbreaking film that started it all. The design features the film’s iconic medal ceremony, a tense game of Dejarik, Obi Wan Kenobi’s duel against Darth Vader, hidden X Wing fighters, and the Millenium Falcon—blending the optimism of A New Hope with the archive’s historic decorative storytelling.
